JAMB Registration 2026

2026-02-12

JAMB has kicked off the 2026 UTME registration process, marking a pivotal moment for millions of Nigerian students chasing higher education dreams amid tight deadlines and new rules. With sales underway since January 19 and closing February 28, candidates must act fast at accredited CBT centers to secure their spot in the April 16-25 exams.

Registration Timeline

The window for UTME registration spans January 26 to February 28, 2026, including foreign applicants, with e-PIN vending ending February 26. Direct Entry (DE) follows from March 2 to April 25 at JAMB state and zonal offices only. Optional Mock-UTME is set for March 28, ahead of the main exams.

Fees Breakdown

Three e-PIN categories apply: DE at ₦5,700; UTME without mock at ₦7,200; UTME with mock at ₦8,700. This covers JAMB fee (₦3,500), reading text (₦1,000), CBT services (₦700 + ₦1,500), bank charges (₦500), and mock extras (₦1,500).

Key Requirements

Candidates need a valid NIN—resolve NIMC biodata issues like name or DOB mismatches beforehand, as JAMB relies solely on NIMC data. Minimum age is 16 by September 30, 2026; under-16s require 80%+ scores across UTME, SSCE, Post-UTME, and evaluation for waiver. Register only at approved CBT centers to avoid fraud; JAMB vows license revocation for violators.

Step-by-Step Guide
  • Generate profile code via SMS with NIN to 55019 or 66019 (valid 2 weeks).

  • Purchase e-PIN at banks, agents, or JAMB offices.

  • Visit accredited CBT center with O'level results (min 5 credits), passport photo, and profile code.

  • Complete biometrics, subject choices (4 subjects), and institution/program selection.

  • Print slip post-registration—no home printing allowed.

Age and Eligibility Rules

General eligibility demands turning 16 by September 30, 2026, with SSCE passes from NECO/WAEC. Exceptional under-16 candidates face rigorous post-exam scrutiny, with results withheld until cleared. JAMB emphasizes no shortcuts—fraud leads to disqualification.

Warnings and Tips

Beware extortion at centers; report overcharges immediately. Nine strict rules govern conduct, from no phones to accurate data entry. Prep early: Practice CBT mocks, choose subjects wisely, and aim high—250+ unlocks NELFUND loans and top unis. With 870+ centers nationwide, seamless access is prioritized, but delays risk missing out.
